Rex Bruce Bushman was born in Alhambra, California. In 1950
his father, a career Bell Telephone technician, moved his
family to Las Vegas, Nevada, where Rex grew up.
Rex exhibited musical talents and learned to sing and play
guitar, piano, trumpet and saxophone.
Rex graduated with honors from Western High School and received
a scholarship on jazz piano at UNLV. Rex interrupted his education
with a tour with the USO to entertain U.S. troops in Asia
and Viet Nam during the Viet Nam war. Upon return Rex received
work as a back up musician and arranger for several groups
that performed in the Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe hotel circuit.
Rex decided to leave the night life to obtain an education
and a more secure livelihood for the family he wanted about
1972. Rex finished obtaining a bachelor degree at UNLV all
the while receiving tuition waivers for participating in music
ensembles but majoring in accounting.
Upon graduating in 1975 Rex was accepted to attend law school
at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.
Rex graduated with Juris Doctorate degree in 1978 and in that
same year passed the Utah State Bar exam.
Upon graduation Rex moved to Salt Lake City and began a career
first as an accountant doing tax returns for a local accounting
firm. Rex moved on to practicing law and has now practiced
law for 23 years in Salt Lake City.
Rex began working for a law firm but early on decided to be
a solo practicing attorney. Rex began practicing small litigation
matters in contract cases as well as bankruptcy, divorce and
some criminal defence. Then Rex graduated to doing personal
injury cases, more involved litigation in contracts and real
property issues as well as estate planning.
Rex is a published attorney, having written and had two articles published
in the Utah Bar Journal regarding legal practice in the state
of Utah. He has taught a graduate course for practicing attorneys
for a masters program.
At this stage in his career Rex observes that he often works
against lesser experienced attorneys and has the increased
success experience affords the older counsel.
Rex has learned to aggressively pursue fraud in real estate
and breach of contract matters and has successfully litigated
many personal injury, contract and real property disputes
to the satisfaction of his clientelle. While Rex has an easy
going disposition to deal with his own clientelle he aggressively
advocates his own clients' causes of action with the opposing
counsels who represent interests adverse to his clients.
Rex is a successful family man, with 6 children, the oldest
of which is a practicing attorney, next in line now applying
to attend law school and younger children still obtaining
their education.
Rex is attentive to his religious interests and currently
serves as a ward clerk in his local congregation.
Rex will allow as confidential a relationship with a new client
as the client wishes and afford honest appraisal and diligent
effort to accomplish the client's objectives. Rex will execute
and file all necessary work promptly without delay. Rex will
return client calls daily and charge a fee lower than larger
firms operating as legal service providers in the area.
Rex looks forward to meeting with and establishing a successful
attorney, client relationship with every new client that comes
to his office.
